• Jason du Plateau des Bruyères is the foxterrier of my mother in law. He is a nice little dog and almost the same age as our youngsters, Jemma and Juli.

The culture clash between the two breeds is evident everytime they meet but they manage really well! There is a lot more agression from the terrier side and a lot more subtle communication from the husky side. But Jason is smart enough to know when to back down. And to back down when he needs to! NOT an evidence for every terrier!

  • I have to confess, I get a little sentimental when I think about our latest hiking trips! Since I'm a child I have always dreamt about wolves and about running across the wilderness in a wolf pack. Growing up I have realised of course that this is pure fantasy, I learned about the difference between dream and real life. About reflection and consistent hard work to reach your goals.

So for years I have trained our dogs, observed them learn and reflected on my own method of teaching. We revise a lot and I try to give them a honest chance to achieve what I ask of them.

And lately I just HAD to admit that we have gotten pretty far! I can walk Daika, Ebi and Ewok off-leash and call them back when they see dogs or animals to hunt. I have done my best for our yearlings, Juli and Jemma, so they can come hiking with me too. Off-leash most of the time and on leash on roads and near farms.

Our yearlings did really, really well, I am soooo proud of them!! I almost HAVE the impression to be running with wolves, just like in my childhood dreams.

So this is the video I made about a day-hike with Ebi and her son Juli.

  • In this video I want to show the way our dogs play with each others. Our dogs are crazy and love to run. Especially the young ones stand out, they love to sprint, jump and to try out all kind of Aikido stuff! The aim is to grab the fur on the collar of the other dog, and to twist it in order to make him fall.

Jemma, the small grey female especially stands out. She is one year old now and is a crazy little dog. What she lacks in size she makes up with stamina!

All play you see in this video is harmless, friendly play of a pack of siberian huskies that live together all day long. Sometimes tension builds up a bit, especially between the two youngsters Jemma and Juli. Sound is cut out in the video but I do tell them to calm down when I don't like the way they play and it works right away.

I have not accelerated one single thing in this video! Its either slowed down or real speed.

  • Visit of one of our puppies, J'Cali Dolina Volka, Juli's sister and daughter of Ebi and Fritz. On the same week-end we also kept Jason, the young wire-haired foxterrier of my mother in law.

  • On our last holidays to Austria we left the dogs at home since we were supposed to stay only 3 days and for a wedding. Our Juli was very lucky and got to stay with friends of ours who own two lapinkoiras, finnish sheepdogs.

They took Juli with them on a nice hiking trip.
